Shipping policy

Overview

This shipping policy explains how we prepare, dispatch and deliver orders placed with The Ampthill Alchemist. We aim to make every part of your experience smooth, clear and enjoyable.

Processing Time

All orders are prepared with care. Orders are usually dispatched within three to four working days. During busy periods this may take a little longer, but we will always work to send your order as quickly as possible.

Delivery Partners

We use trusted carriers such as Royal Mail for UK deliveries. Your delivery method will be shown at checkout.

Local Delivery

We offer local delivery within a six mile radius of MK45.

Local delivery is carried out on a weekly basis, usually on a Friday.

If you place your order on a Thursday or Friday, your delivery will be made the following week. This allows us time to prepare your order and include it in the next delivery round.

Local delivery will appear as an option at checkout when your address falls within the delivery radius.

Local deliveries are made directly by us. Once your order is ready, we will contact you to confirm your delivery day.

Home Collection

If you live outside the local delivery radius, you can choose Home Collection at checkout.

You will be able to collect your order directly from The Ampthill Alchemist. Please wait for your collection email before coming to the location, as your order will need to be prepared and packaged before collection.

Collection details and instructions will be included in your email.

Delivery Times

Standard delivery usually arrives within two to five working days after dispatch. Delivery times may vary depending on location, seasonal demand or carrier delays.

Local delivery times may vary depending on availability, but we aim to deliver within a few days of dispatch.

Once your order has been dispatched or scheduled for local delivery or collection, you will receive a confirmation email.

Delivery Charges

Delivery costs are shown at checkout before you complete your order. These charges cover packaging, handling and postage or local delivery.

Incorrect or Damaged Orders

If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, please contact us within seven days of delivery at theampthillalchemist@gmail.com. Include your order number and a photo so we can resolve the issue quickly.

Missed Deliveries

If a delivery attempt is missed, your carrier may leave a card or update your tracking information with instructions. It is your responsibility to follow these instructions or collect your parcel from the designated location.

If a parcel is returned to us due to non collection, we can resend it once the additional postage cost has been paid.

For local delivery, if we are unable to deliver due to no answer, we will contact you to rearrange a suitable time.

Address Accuracy

Please ensure your delivery address is correct at checkout. We cannot take responsibility for delays or lost parcels caused by incorrect or incomplete addresses.
